2930 Burgundy St

Iris Development and Green Coast Enterprises are planning “a mixed-income ground-up multi-family development with 2,500 SF of ground-floor retail and 70 residential units” for the lot spanning Montegut street between Burgundy and Dauphine. The developers met with NFB back in May of 2018, and recently showed updated plans to near neighbors. Near neighbors continued to voice unease about the building being an imposing five stories, but the developers assert that it is the only way to make the project economically feasible. They plan to start construction this winter and say it will take about 14 months to complete. The industrial lots between Montegut and the railroad are not included in the Bywater Historic District.
